Greaves Electric Launches High-Speed Electric Two-Wheelers Ampere Primus and Ampere Zeal EX

Greaves Electric Mobility, the e-mobility business of Greaves Cotton Limited, launched its new high-speed electric two-wheelers, Ampere Primus and Ampere Zeal EX on February 16, 2023.

The Ampere Primus is priced at Rs 1,09,900 (ex-showroom price) and boasts top speeds of 77 kmph, with the ability to speed up to 40 kmph in under 5 seconds. It has a range of 100+ km on a full charge in power mode, which increases further in eco mode. The scooter can be driven in four modes – eco, city, power, and reverse.

According to the company, the Ampere Primus offers optimum safety with an LFP battery pack, improved performance with PMS motor, belt drive, and smart connected cluster for seamless navigation. It is available in dual-tone body panels with a matte finish in four colours —Himalayan White, Royal Orange, Havelock Blue, and Buck Black.

The Ampere Zeal EX, an entry-level, sporty e-scooter, will debut at a price point of Rs 69,900 (ex-showroom price) in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand. The company said buyers can avail of benefits of up to Rs 6,000 that are valid till March 31, 2023. It has a certified high range of 120 km and will be equipped with a CAN-enabled Lithium-ion Battery, a large battery pack, multiple ride modes, and a side stand sensor, among others. It will be available in three colours — Stone Grey, Ivory White, and Indigo Blue.

“The new scooter embodies the company’s ‘Make-in-India’ thrust, with a high degree of localization with domestically sourced components,” the firm said in a statement.

The launch of these two high-speed electric two-wheelers marks the company’s foray into the segment. With this, the company aims to cater to the increasing demand for eco-friendly transportation in the country.

Greaves Electric Mobility has a network of over 350 dealerships across India and aims to expand to more locations in the near future.
