The Harley-Davidson X440 is a new motorcycle designed and developed from the ground up in India in partnership with Hero MotoCorp.
The Harley Davidson X440 was unveiled in India on May 25th, 2023. It is set to launch on July 3rd, 2023.
It is a roadster motorcycle with an oil-cooled, single-cylinder 440cc engine. The X440 features circular elements such as headlights, turn indicators, and instrument cluster. It is expected to be priced around Rs. 2.50 lakh and will rival the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350. The launch date is confirmed on July 4th, 2023.
The Harley Davidson X440 will compete against motorcycles in the 350cc class such as the various Royal Enfields, the KTM Duke 390, TVS Apache RR310, the Bajaj Dominar 400 and the BM<W G310R on price. Direct competition in the same segment would consist of 350cc Royal Enfields, the Honda H’ness 350 and to some extent, Jawas adn Yezdis.
The Hero MotoCorp – Harley Davidson partnership was announced in October 2020. As part of the new strategy called ‘the Rewrire’, Hero would sell and service Harley Motorcycles across the country. Hero will develop a range of motorcycles under the Harley Davidson brand name and sell them in India – the X440 is the first bike out of this partnership.
