Honda Activa 125 to receive a technological upgrade soon

By Biketoq Editor

Honda has announced that it will be upgrading its Activa 125 line-up with the introduction of an H-Smart variant. The new variant is expected to come equipped with a range of electronic features, some of which are similar to those found in cars.

One of the most notable features of the new H-Smart variant is the electronic key fob. This will enable a range of functionalities, including the ability to locate the vehicle by flashing all four indicators at the press of a button. Additionally, the SmartStart feature will allow the scooter to be started by simply flipping a switch located where the key slot would normally be found. The SmartUnlock feature will allow the handlebar, fuel filler cap and under-seat storage unit to be unlocked using the key fob. The SmartSafe feature will also be included, which shuts off the keyless functionality of the fob, locking the vehicle and aiding safety.

The digital inset in the dash will also receive an update, displaying relevant fuel-efficiency data such as real-time mileage, average mileage and distance to empty.

The Activa 125 is available in three variants – Drum, Drum alloy and Disc. It remains unclear whether Honda will introduce an additional variant to the Activa 125 line-up specifically for this feature, as it did with the Activa 6G, or whether it will simply update the range-topping Disc variant. However, it is expected that prices for the Activa 125 will increase once this feature is added.

Honda has previously introduced the H-Smart variant to its Activa 6G line-up. This has been a popular addition and has received positive feedback from customers. The company is hoping that the new H-Smart variant will be similarly well received by Activa 125 customers.
