New Motovolt URBN e-bike launched

Adding to the long list of electric vehicles currently available in the country, recently the Kolkata-based electric venture Motovolt Mobility Pvt Ltd announced the launch of its new URBN e-bike. The URBN e-bike is an electric cycle which offers a 120km of range with a removable BIS-approved battery. The new model has been introduced at a price of Rs 49,999 and it will come available in four different colours namely orange, red, blue and yellow.

Commenting on the launch of the new URBN e-bike, Tushar Choudhary, Founder, and CEO, of Motovolt, said, “Motovolt is committed to the cause of building a pollution-free and sustainable future for all. It is priced at INR 49,999/- onwards and can be purchased at easy EMIs. It is a perfect ride for local commutes and offers a 120 km range on a full charge.URBN is a smart e-bicycle which comes with an integrated smartphone app which will transform the experience of a daily ride for office goers as well as college or school students in Indian towns and cities.”

The launch of the company’s newest product was held at Constitution Club, New Delhi with the chief guest Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, Indian Politician and Member of Parliament from West Delhi Lok Sabha Constituency. Speaking at the launch he stated, “The Government of India has been dedicated to working towards promoting the EV sector in India. We have been focusing on supporting manufacturers who innovate and create high-quality and affordable battery-powered commute options. We have launched various schemes and initiatives such as Production Linked Incentives and subsidies for the purchase of EVs. It is heartening to see a young enterprise like Motovolt come up with e-bikes, and I hope URBN will prove to be a great personal commute option for the younger commuters in cities all over India.”

According to the company, the replaceable, BIS-approved battery that powers the Motovolt URBN is secure and simple to charge. It includes numerous riding modes and a pedal assist sensor to facilitate peddling or automated ride choices. Furthermore, it also has a handle lock, ignition key switch, and several more features. Riders may also enjoy hassle-free, environmentally friendly rides with URBN because neither a licence nor registration is required for the purchase and usage of the Motovolt URBN. The company also added that interested customers could reserve their URBN e-scooters for Rs 999 by visiting their nearest dealer or by visiting the official website.

Dimensionally the scooter measures in at 1700 mm in length, 645 mm in width and has a height of 1010 mm. Meanwhile, the weight of the new e-scooter is around 40kg. It is powered by a BLDC motor and can achieve a maximum top speed of 25 kmph. It also comes with a lithium-ion battery which can be charged in just 4 hours.
