The Indian multinational motorcycle manufacturer TVS Motor Company has enjoyed great success with its two-wheeler Jupiter. And owing to the scooter the company has achieved the milestone of Fastest Five Million Vehicles On Road. So to commemorate the reaching of this milestone, the Chennai-based automaker has launched the all-new, TVS Jupiter Classic celebratory edition. Some of the highlights of the new scooter are black elements like – mirrors, logos, disc brakes with diamond-cut alloy wheels and a premium seat with a backrest along with a few more features.

Commenting on the launch of the new Jupiter Classic, Aniruddha Haldar, Senior Vice President (Marketing) Commuters, Corporate Brand & Dealer Transformation, TVS Motor Company,, said, “The New TVS Jupiter Classic is contemporised premium classic. This variant celebrates TVS Jupiter achieving the milestone of the “Fastest Five Million Vehicles On Road.” It is the acknowledgement and celebration of the fact that this has been made possible by the unprecedented faith and love millions of consumers have reposed in TVS Jupiter. With the TVS Jupiter Classic we recommit to consistent delivery of the TVS Jupiter Brand promise of ZYADA KA FAYDA.”

With a black motif running through its mirror highlights, fender garnish, tinted visor, and 3D black premium emblem, the New TVS Jupiter Classic receives a premium interpretation. It also comes equipped with handlebar ends, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and inside panels in a beautiful dark brown colour. It also receives superior suede leatherette seats with a backrest that fit the motif. The dial art and decals add to the retro theme of the Jupiter Classic. Mystic Grey and Regal Purple, two special colours, will be available in the new celebratory edition. In terms of safety, the new scooter comes equipped with disc brakes and an engine stop switch as well as the convenience of an all-in-one lock, a USB charger, and a pillion backrest.

As for the powerplant side of things, A cutting-edge 110 cc aluminium engine provides the TVS Jupiter Classic with power, excellent acceleration, and best-in-class fuel efficiency. Additionally, the scooter gets the TVS Motor proprietary Econometer that directs users in both “Eco Mode” and “Power Mode,” and in “Eco” mode, the engine offers best-in-class fuel efficiency.

In other TVS news, according to reports, it was revealed that the company is working on a hydrogen-powered iteration of its popular electric scooter the iQube. Just a while ago a few of the patents bearing the name and designs of the Indian automaker surfaced online and from those, it was deduced that they are for a hydrogen-powered scooter. The said leaked patent documents showed that the company is working on a scooter with two hydrogen “fuel” canisters mounted to the front downtube of a scooter’s frame. The design illustrations further reveal that a filler nozzle is located on the front apron, and a pipe connects the two canisters.

As for the hydrogen fuel stack, it will be located under the seat, where the battery sits in a traditional electric scooter. Additionally, according to the patent, this scooter will also have a battery pack underneath the floorboard, the size of which has not yet been determined. This batter will store energy produced during braking or deceleration as well as provide extra performance when needed. When power requirements are reduced, the fuel cell may also replenish the battery pack. For the motor, TVS could be deploying a similar hub-mounted 4.4kW motor that can be seen on the outgoing electric iQube scooter.
