Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 bookings cross 10,000 in 10 days

Triumph Motorcycles, the renowned British motorcycle manufacturer, and its alliance partner Bajaj Auto are witnessing an unprecedented demand in India for their newly unveiled mid-size bikes, the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400. Within a mere 10 days since their introduction, the companies have received over 10,000 bookings, prompting them to ramp up production to meet the surging interest.

During the India launch on July 5th, the Speed 400 was unveiled with a price tag of Rs. 2.33 lakh, while the first 10,000 customers were offered a special inaugural price of Rs. 2.23 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Triumph Motorcycles has announced that the bikes will be available in their showrooms by the end of July. As for the Scrambler 400, it is expected to hit the market in October, with pricing details set to be disclosed closer to the launch date.

Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director of Bajaj Auto, expressed enthusiasm about the overwhelming response from customers. He described the pre-order of 10,000 bikes within such a short span as unprecedented, showcasing the unwavering faith riders have placed in Bajaj Auto and Triumph Motorcycles. Sharma emphasized their commitment to manufacturing exceptional motorcycles that captivate riders with their performance, design, and technology.

To address the burgeoning demand, production will be scaled up accordingly. The companies have implemented an online booking system, allowing customers to reserve their spots and reduce waiting periods. Once the motorcycles reach dealerships, customers from the booking list will be invited to make payments. The first 10,000 customers who take delivery of the Speed 400 will be eligible for the special inaugural price, as stated by the company.

The introduction of the Speed 400 by Triumph Motorcycles in the Indian market, priced attractively at Rs. 2.23 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 10,000 customers, has sent shockwaves throughout the industry. The pricing announcement for the Triumph Speed 400 occurred during the global unveiling a few days ago, with India being the first country to witness the official price reveal. Within a short span of ten days since the global unveiling and just three days since the Indian market launch, bookings for both the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 have surpassed the 10,000 mark.

While the Scrambler 400X’s price will be announced in October, the Speed 400 is scheduled for availability by the end of July. Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director of Bajaj Auto Ltd, expressed excitement about the overwhelming response, emphasizing the unprecedented pre-order of 10,000 bikes within a short span. Sharma highlighted the unwavering faith that riders have placed in Bajaj Auto and Triumph Motorcycles, underscoring the commitment to manufacturing motorcycles that captivate riders with their performance, design, and technology.

With only 15 operational dealerships across the country, Triumph Motorcycles faces the challenge of meeting the high demand. The motorcycle garnered over 2,500 bookings within just a couple of hours. Currently, the production plan stands at 5,000 units per month, with the possibility of further ramping up production if demand continues to rise.
